Jämtkraft has produced power from renewable sources since it was founded in 1889. As a private customer, your power agreement always gives you 100% renewable energy.
We sell electricity and district heating. Most of our customers are in Östersund, Krokom and Åre, but we sell electricity throughout Sweden. Most of the electricity we sell is produced by our own power plants.
Even back in 1889 we were working on future issues, but then it was getting lamps to light. We are still working on future issues now, but many of these are about obtaining zero carbon emissions for electricity and heating. We want to contribute the renewable energy needed for a sustainable society. It gives us power for the future.
